Students from Boyne Community School with their prize of an iPad won at the Bank of Ireland Trim Enterprise Event. For their business venture the students (from left to right Kevin Tiernan, Marc Shelly and Connor Cook with their Enterprise teacher M. Whittington far left), have designed and manufactured laser cut Christmas cards featuring local scenes, using the schools laser cutter.
The cards are being sold in aid of the Jimmy Fund, part of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute from the school and local shops.
The event was opened by the Rose of Tralee from Meath, Elysha Brennan and the prize was presented by RTE Dragon's Den regular Gavin Duffy who praised the students for their entrepreneurial skills and sense of timing for deciding on such a seasonal business idea.
